Last weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of capturing a one-of-a-kind wedding at Glen Helen Nature Preserve, Camp Greene in Yellow Springs, Ohio. This earthy, nature-filled celebration was as unique and vibrant as the couple themselves. It was a day where creativity met tranquility, and every detail told their love story in the most authentic way.

The couple, quiet yet wonderfully imaginative, invited their guests to become part of the ceremony in a deeply meaningful way. Upon arrival, each guest was asked to collect a leaf along the path to the venue. These leaves weren’t just a beautiful nod to the surrounding forest; they became part of the ceremony itself. Together, the couple pressed the leaves as a symbol of preserving not only nature but the memories and love shared that day. It was a moment that felt both timeless and heartfelt—a true reflection of their connection to the natural world.

As the afternoon turned to cocktail hour, guests were treated to another unforgettable experience: a live bird interaction. Watching everyone—from kids to grandparents—light up as they learned about and interacted with these incredible creatures was pure magic. Knowing the couple’s love for birdwatching, it was the perfect touch to a celebration rooted in their shared passions.

This wedding wasn’t just a ceremony; it was an experience, a story, a piece of art. Capturing moments like these is why I love what I do. To this couple, thank you for allowing me to be part of your beautifully wild day. Here’s to a lifetime of birdwatching, leaf-pressing, and love.
