Todd Family

Family is everything.  Whether that's friends who mean as much to you as your mother, or the family-in-law of your spouse.  The people who we fill our lives with- encourage our dreams and bring us joy.  I'm really excited that the stars aligned to make this session happen.  They each work different and challenging schedules that rarely allows them to all be in the same space.  Lucky me, that I was asked to capture this special moment in time!

Cole Arthur // Newborn

I'm so happy that this little guy was born.  His parents were an adorable wedding couple I photographed several years ago. As you might now, that's what I get the most joy out of- photographing my wedding clients children.
They came into the studio a few weeks ago and Cole slept like an angel even though he was almost a month old!  I'm so impressed!

IKAIKA // One Year

I'm starting to learn that one of the biggest joys I can have as a photographer is to see my couples live their lives after their weddings.  If they decide to have children, I get to see how their lives are shaped by these new tiny creatures.  It's incredibly fulfilling to see how much love two people can generate. Laena & Vail are no exception.

Every time I have had the opportunity to photograph this family we incorporate part of their Hawaiian heritage into the photographs.   It is a fantastic way to  bring more meaning to images.  Their little boy is Ikaika, but I call him Iki!  He is a bundle of joy I have never ever seen with the one exception of my own overly happy child.

See Iki's newborn photographs here!

Schwartzman Sisters

Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Photographs are possibly the best way to lessen the distance.

Stopping moments in time before they change into something new is what I live for.  These sisters have been raising their children to love their cousins and love their family.  Very soon they might be living a full days travel from each other, making visits more sparse.  Before their lives change, they decided to document the way life is now.  The crazy, the messy and the beautiful parts of it.

These are some creative sisters!  With their kids in tow they handmade large paper flowers and brought them into my studio.  Then we just let these tiny people play, and be free.
