Sarah & Justin // Wedding

In the wedding business sometimes things don't go exactly as planned, Sarah & Justin know that first hand.  For example, rain was not on the guest list but that didn't stop mother nature from crashing their wedding.  Thankfully the bride and groom stayed positive and focused on enjoying the day with each other and their family and friends.  Tons of smiles, laughter and warm embraces. A future so bright, despite the rain.  Congrats to the happy couple!

Jessie & Ryan Wedding

Drooling over beautiful weddings is just something I have become used to, but Jessie and Ryan’s wedding takes classically beautiful weddings to a whole new level. And I suppose why this wedding was featured on The Knot!!!

Jessica and Ryan is a fun young couple who are very much in love and their wedding was a classically romantic and a simply beautiful event.  They have been together for 5+ years .  Ryan is in the Air force, Jessie is a school teacher. Jessie also works with a local florist Floral V Designs and has been planning her wedding flowers for years.  She wanted soft blush colors and lots of texture, very romantic.  Her colors of pale pink and white/ivory spoke true to the fresh and clean romantic feel of the evening. The overwhelming dramatic and gorgeous venue, the Dayton Art Institute truly stands on its own and screams totally EYE CANDY!!! The ceremony took place in the outdoor courtyard at the venue, which provided an intimate and gorgeous space for the “I-Do’s”.  The couple's design elements truly complimented the event space and emphasized on its classic beauty of the venue rather than overwhelm it.

Wedding invitations, programs and menu made by me, her friend and photographer. Guests left the event satisfied visually from the romantically designed space and with full bellies as the couple opted for food stations that featured 20+ types of food.

Katie & Zach Wedding

Pretty in Pink.  Katie and Zach who was an amazing couple had an equally amazing wedding day with a SUPER amazing gown.  The bride wore a beautiful pink blush wedding dress, an incredibly romantic alternative to the typical all white or ivory wedding gown.  GORGEOUS!  Let's just say  "50 shades of pink", Pink was the main color but not overwhelming- from her dreamy and ethereal dress, to her soft pink shoes,  bright pink flowers and touches of pink in all the little details.

And you will not catch this bride running in heels.   The bride is crazy about her Toms (really, who isn’t), so the bride and all of her bridesmaids supported the Toms movement “One for One” and wore a pair of Toms for the event.  So needless to say it was a “Tom-tastic” event….looking great, being comfortable and helping others in need all at the same time.  One bridesmaid got a little more fancy and opted for the Toms wedge.    Toms wedding collection can be seen here, “Change a Life, with your next big step.”

And even though killer bees attacked us as we started her bridal photos and we had to move indoors, we really got some amazing shots inside the church in front of the stained glass windows.  These might just have turned out to be some of my favorite images.  So thank you bees!!!!

The bride and her bridesmaid entourage went totally DYI and made their own bouquets from a local flower shop, The Flower Man.  Jealous-These ladies are SUPER crafty!  WOW!

Moreover, the super cute Grooms cake which featured canoes was a scene straight from their first date and was a surprise from their parents.  ADORABLE!

The night ended with a killer DJ and some serious tasty food from the 4 star local restaurant of El Meson, who offers exciting and yummy Hispanic cuisine.

Ariel & Steve Wedding

I know I say this all the time but it's real this time...  This is the pretties wedding I have ever photographed at the Dayton Art Institute.  The array of colors just brings this amazing venue to life.  My favorite florist Cady at Floral V Designs (www.floralvdesigns.com) put together so many arrangements for this wedding I doubt she could see straight after she was done.  For the ceremony she designed four over the top red rose arrangements that just took my breath away.  They made such a bold new statement in this place that usually speaks for itself.

The wedding coordinator Shaunte Russell has champagne taste and took Ariel's bold idea's to a new height.

If I were going to get married again I would use Ariel's cake-  it's something special!
